Now, five GB students are spending their summer marching with the Legends Drum and Bugle Corps. The most recent addition is Katy Howie! Congrats Katy! All five students were offered contacts and are looking forward to this summer experience. You can track their progress through LEGENDS WEBSITE.
Mr. Rizzi has updated the MB Visual page. Check out the two videos, and once you have watched both, head on over to the forum and making a post in the "May 30th Rehearsal" topic on the Winds discussion board about some things you noticed. Extra props if you include reference to someone else's post or start a real conversation with them on the board! The goal is to open up a friendly and productive dialogue with your teammates! As the school year is coming to a close and vacation is right around the corner, I wanted to bring to your attention a great summer musical opportunity right here in Flint. Dr. Heidenreich recently came into the school to talk with the band classes about the UM-Flint Chamber Music Clinic, and I strongly believe this would be beneficial for all students in the band program. Here is a link to the website for more information about the clinic:
I hope you can take advantage of this clinic!
We share the joy with our 2013 Senior class as they participate in their graduation ceremony tomorrow. We are so proud of each and everyone of our day band students. In an effort to celebrate with them, we will honor each senior by posting a picture of them on FACEBOOK and their musical activities at GBHS. We have 29 day band students, so each 1/2 hour, from 9am - 10pm, a new senior will be announced. We hope that you enjoy watch each student throughout the day. Congratulations seniors, and we hope you have a wonderful evening!
"Memorial Day this year is especially important as we are reminded almost daily of the great sacrifices that the men and women of the Armed Services make to defend our way of life."

A special THANK YOU to Grand Blanc Eyes for being one of our table decorators at the Jazz Concert. Their table was wonderfully decorated complete with flowers, mugs and coupons for 20% of sunglasses! Thank you!
Congratulations to Ethan, Kathleen, and Maddy! These 3 members sold over 21 Little Caesars items and added over $100 to their band account to use for band camp. Great job! All orders have been calculated and will be added to everyones account shorty. In total, close to $1,500 will be added to students accounts. Be sure to visit the Little Caesars Fundraiser page to see when all items will be delivered.
Wow! As a visual staff, we are VERY excited about your progress so far. Four rehearsals in, and the focus and determination is still clearly there! Let's keep this going!!
Instead of having you watch yourselves perform this week, we thought it would be cool to have you watch some of the best performers in the activity! For those who are not familiar with Phantom Regiment, they are the equivalent of a "professional marching band" with only brass instruments. Many of the members of this group are your age (or just a little bit older).

Great job to everyone involved in the 2013 Sweet Sounds of Jazz Concert! Thank you to all the parents and volunteers that helped make the evening a huge success. The tables looked great, and the food was wonderful. Congratulations to Mr. Finkbeiner and the GBHS Jazz Band and Jazz Combo for their fine performance! This is the best we have heard both of these groups play. Truly a great evening all around! Thank you and Congrats!

Dear Marching Band Parents:
The Grand Blanc High School Marching Band is an exciting, active organization. We are proud to have a committed, enthusiastic group of students who are involved in the music making process. These musical ambassadors are a source of pride for our band, school and community.
An equal source of pride is the band’s parent support group. These dedicated parents and friends have given unselfishly of their time and talents to provide enrichment experiences for the students involved in our program.
During the course of the marching band season, our band parents make a difference. Annual projects help raise needed funds to offset the cost involved in travel, equipment and related educational expenses. Our band parents also help manage uniforms maintenance and distribution, assist with transport and set-up of equipment, serve as chaperones, and the list goes on!
On Thursday, May 16th, at 8:00pm in the East High School Commons, the Grand Blanc Band Boosters and the band directors, will be meeting to discuss with all NEW marching band parents, upcoming band events and support activities. This annual meeting is designed for YOU, new marching band parents, to be introduced to the booster organization and answer any questions that you have about the program. This meeting will begin with a short presentation by the directors and a few booster parents, and then will be open for questions. The meeting should not last more than an hour. Please try to clear your calendar and attend. We will also be distributing band camp packets at this time if you did not get one.
This is your personal invitation to come out and renew an old friendship or make a new one. Come and experience first-hand the sense of community that develops as involved parents and friends support the activities of their children. We look forward to seeing you there!
